There is a beautiful map by our friends over at Mia Kora, aptly titled The Fabric Map of Africa. Its an ambitious initiative which they have delivered with aplomb. When we shared it with our people on all our social media platforms, it trended even beyond our followers.

Our people had fun with it! After all, our people are hungry for this type of engaging and indeed insightful encounters with relevant content.

Africa is huge, 54 countries, 1.4bn people, the world’s second largest and second most populous continent, after Asia. It occupies 20 per cent of Earth’s land area and carries 16 per cent of the world population. It is resident to some of the oldest civilisations in the human history. Fabrics are part and parcel of culture. And seen from that angle African fabric present cannot be compressed into one map, but the Mia Kora team did something useful, they created a visual guide of the vast continent’s fabric cultures.
