Welcome to the BLK Collection
Welcome to the new look Ankara Blvd, new brand and new website as well as, most importantly, a new collection.
In this current season, alongside our new, more user-friendly website, we launch The BLK Collection, a celebration of people of African origin from the continent itself to the US, UK and globally.
Through this Collection we celebrate this year 2020 which has seen once again the focus of our people all over the world on the conditions of our brothers and sisters in the diaspora, the extra judicial killing of Black males by police in the US proving a catalyst for our protests this year. Our BLM moment has extended to demonstrations globally where the lives of our people face threats, a recent example being the Nigeria #StopSARS.
The BLK Collection, covers all corners of the African global, with West African Kente and Bogolan influences, and Black Power colour scheme (Kwanzaa) to southern African Sotho-Tswana Shweshwe colours and Ndebele aesthetic with its geometric look. Take time to peruse this vast collection.
Take advantage of the 10 per cent discount on the collection (except the Kwanzaa series) and add more colour and pan-African look to your wardrobe. Also look out for the generous 15 per cent discount on the entire Kwanzaa Series.

Joy of the month: Fabric map of Africa
There is a beautiful map by our friends over at Mia Kora, aptly titled The Fabric Map of Africa. Its an ambitious initiative which they have delivered with aplomb. When we shared it with our people on all our social media platforms, it trended even beyond our followers.
Our people had fun with it! After all, our people are hungry for this type of engaging and indeed insightful encounters with relevant content.
Africa is huge, 54 countries, 1.4bn people, the world’s second largest and second most populous continent, after Asia. It occupies 20 per cent of Earth’s land area and carries 16 per cent of the world population. It is resident to some of the oldest civilisations in the human history. Fabrics are part and parcel of culture. And seen from that angle African fabric present cannot be compressed into one map, but the Mia Kora team did something useful, they created a visual guide of the vast continent’s fabric cultures.
In short, it was an impossible feat, however it was the best ever such initiative delivered with such detail. Here it is, but if you want all of it, in all its glory you will have to get over to Mia Kora website.
